Meet the Builder

I was blessed to be raised by two wonderful and loving parents, Tammy and Wayne. They instilled in me the values of kindness, love, hard work, and determination. Many of my summers were spent working for my dad’s construction company or alongside my uncles and grandfathers in their respective trades. I learned invaluable lessons from these men, and I cherish the experiences and knowledge they shared with me.

My Early Years

Following in my mother’s footsteps, I pursued a career in accounting. After earning my degree in college, I dedicated a challenging year to studying for my CPA license. With determination and hard work, I successfully passed the exams and became a CPA, proving that my parents’ lessons had finally paid off.

If you see me on a job site, you might not realize I spent many years in public accounting, including a stint at JP Morgan in the company’s real estate investment group. While I enjoyed the work, I knew in my heart my passions lay elsewhere. In my free time, I found myself drawn to my woodshop, constantly seeking projects to use the carpentry skills I had developed in my youth alongside my dad, grandfathers, and uncles.

The Big Change

After a time of reflection, I realized deep in my gut I needed a change. I left my job at JP Morgan to follow my passion for working with my hands again. With no projects lined up, I decided to try my hand at flipping houses. Over the next several years, I collaborated with local tradesmen and women to renovate homes for buyers in my community.

After each completed project, buyers expressed their appreciation for the quality and thoughtful design of the homes. One memorable buyer even asked me to come back and build a new deck for her. That’s when I found my inspiration …

Let Me Introduce You to SB Builders Group

Shortly after that homeowner asked for a new deck, SB Builders Group was born. In January 2020, I transitioned my trade partners and employees from the house-flipping business to form the new company. 

It was important to me to include “Group” in the business name to emphasize that my employees are integral to the company. Without these brilliant and hard-working men and women, SB Builders Group wouldn’t be the success it is today.

The Future

With the unwavering support of my wife, Sarah, we envision growing SB Builders Group into a company where our employees can thrive and support their families while also making our clients’ dreams come true.
